What is it that we love about Fridays anyway? It is a day like any other, is it not? It marks the end of our work week of course. Time to let our hair down and have some fun, baby! Why not let our hair down and have some fun everyday? I know we can’t be perpetually happy all the time. Life doesn’t work that way. In fact we have varying degrees of happiness as we do sadness. It is finding that balance…we always seem to look for normalcy and in truth, I don’t really know what normal is. Perhaps it is the averaged out experiences we expect in our life. Apparently we all want a spouse, children (2.5 of them), a house, a car, a great vacation every year, a good job, etc. You get the idea. Personally, I want the unexpected. Personally I want the big rush. I don’t mean this in the sense of taking risks either. I am not someone who climbs mountains or jumps out of planes…but I will run through a dark park at 5:00 AM in the morning! Hee! Hee!
Okay, I am being silly. Still there is something to be said when something occurs and it is just over the top for you. I guess my point is that it doesn’t have to be over the top in order to be a phenomenal experience. It just means I have to be right in the moment, embracing it fully to get that head on experience. That is what I am pushing for and trying to understand more fully.
I did by the way, go for my run this morning. Great run. I was really in the zone this morning and I am finding that the more I run, the quicker I get to that wonderful space that makes this activity so delightful. This morning I was thinking that runners are People of the Horse. I was thinking of my running group and envisioning them as horses and what kind they would be. Sounds rather silly, I know. As I have expressed before I do have a rather active imagination. Its fun as well.
In any case, I will make this a brief post as I do have work to get to. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend to come!
